i have a choice of buyin a s2 or a vw r32 . . i am going to purchase which ever one that i can make faster, im willing to turbo / supercharge. someone please tell me what i can do to the s2 to make it faster, i would lik to run low #s.

How much money do you have to spend? You can make a rusted out Yugo into a 9 second car if your willing to drop the $.

Pick the car that YOU like best - and then make it fast.

 

it depends, im not really familiar with vw. but the vw r32 doesnt look bad. maybe compare the prices. also, test driving the two cars wont be bad. you will find which one you like better. as for looks, im sure the s2 would get looked at more than the vw. thats imo.

Are you looking for dragging or overall speed through the twisties or open road? Remember that the R32 is a pretty heavy beast... but I believe that it has more torque. I would venture to guess that the R32 would be able to do 1/4 mile times faster if enough money is spent... but the S will beat it if rolling.

r32 is more mod-friendly but i personally do not like VW's, i just don't like the way they look, drive and feel. not a true driving experience.


as someone has said earlier, you can make a yugo or pinto do a 9 1320, but what's the point...

 

if your looking to drag then get the r32 and turbo it, it will be a beast, the s2k isnt meant to drag race, from what i read you gotta launch the **** out of it to get any kind of good times out of it( ie i mean you gotta launch at like 6000-7000 rpms) and thats not at all good for the trans and rear, the s2k is a drivers car, someone that wants to go threw the twisties, or race the car on a track, the r32 isnt as raw of a car( ie its quieter, smoother ride, heated seats,heated mirrors) its more of a luxery sports car, fast in a straght line, and probaly doesnt handle to bad, these are 2 pretty different car, in alot of ways, you gotta think about what you want in a car before you can decide which one to get, you cant just say that you want to get which ever one can be faster, cuz like others were saying you can make any car fast

 

R32's don't handle too bad? 4-Motion (All wheel drive) is great in that thing once you get a stiffer suspension, like light-weight 17s, FK Coilovers, Sways, and struts. But what do you expect, this is a Honda forum.

Personally I'd get an S2000 (which I am looking to purchase soon - see sig), but for the fastest car (which is what he wanted) with the least amount of money, i'd get the R32.

I believe some vw tuner has a 400,500,600 whp setup for the r32. The 500 setup has it running like 11.00. If you want a fast car, get the r32. the s2000 isnt a drag car, its just a nice sunday driver with some sport, some handling,and loads of looks.

That R32 is a 50K car

regaurdless of what they say about how fast it is ect

When you realize for 30K you can build a AWD talon that runs 8.8 on DOT street tires that hunk of people movin ish is a joke

They have had considerable issues with it

Anyway a fox body mustang built for the same money as the s2k will rip it's door off

The s2k is a sports car not a drag car not a drift car though it does both well

Yes exactly. This is a biased place to ask a question like this. VW's don't suck, but you are free to your own opinions.

I want him to get an R32, so their be more S2000's for me to buy (well potentially).

LOL - alot of cars will whoop up on the S - in all categories. I don't care, I love my S, and I don't ever want to get rid of mine.

Its funny though, this whole thread, what's it about? I mean, when you buy a car, do you ask others which one is better. I guess I just don't understand why people don't just buy a car they'll be happy with and say **** it to everyone with negative opinion.

 

If you want to make a car go fast in a straight line, don't get either.

Get a used Vette, a new Evo, Camaro, anything other than these 2 cars. You will spend way too much money to get either to run "low" numbers.

But, if you crap money, then by all means, get whatever you want.

 

Get the S2K, its a Honda so it's reliable.
If you mod the R32 which is a VW, you void your warrenty, and VW's are infamous for electrical problems.

Who cares if a car has AWD? RWD is a better drag platform. The S2k is not a good drag platform, and neither is the R32.

And give me 20k, I will put my life on the fact I could get the car to run an 11.2.

The R32 looks just like a 20th Anniv. Way to go VW with making the car "stick" out.

 

You guys are all forgetting the ONLY factor that we shall get an S2k: IT"S A CONVERTIBLE!!! Drive the R32 and a top-down S2k both the the beaches, and let's see who gets more attention. :D
