Default Charge for work on Technical Service Bulletins

Just a quick question about Technical service bulletins before I take my car in for service.

Do I have to pay for services from the dealership service department for work being done for a Technical Service Bulletin?

TIA

I would assume that you would have to pay. TSB's aren't the same as recalls. Most of the time, they are just info on how to treat or repair common problems with a vehicle.

I work at a dealer shop, and yes, you do have to pay for TSB work. Unlike recalls where they actually call the car back, TSB's are simply a publication with a known fix for a common problem. Warranty work and recalls are the only things you don't have to pay for

Hey, had a quick question. I recently received a recall on my '99 Accord for an adjustment to something in the emissions, apparently this car may not pass the California emissions standards (I live in Illinois in an area without emissions testing (some places in Illinois have it)).

What is the effect of having this adjustment done? Am I going to lower mileage or performance, will it make my oxygen sensors kick off more easily, etc? Also, recalls don't have a time limit, right, thus I could take it in 5 years from now and have the work done?

Probably the THROTTLE BODY AIR BLEED SCREW ADJUSTMENT. 04-011 is the bulletin # and no, it shouldn't really affect anything as far as mileage or performance is concerned.

Some recalls do have expiration dates. The balancer seal retainer is a good example. If there is a time limit it will be noted on the TSB.
