any difference between 97-00 h22 header and 93-96 h22 header???
i dont think so i am using a 2001 header on my 94 head and i have a header for a 94 altough im not using it because the newer one is in better condition...but they look identical to me.
for the header itself, there is no design difference, but you wanna make sure that your downpipe flange matches your header flange and that the flex- pipe is of the same length. otherwise you're gonna have some fitament issues. i just went through this week before last on my car.
sorry for digging up this dinosaur thread but i couldn't find anything to answer my question ... i'm getting a 98 H22A Type-S Motor ... i want to get an aftermarket header ... what USDM H22 is equivalent to the type-S? H22A1/H22A4 ? im a H series newb ... thanks

i don't understand why, but for example why does megan have a different header for base model and SH model? ... i'd think there must be a difference
oh ok ... well i'm getting a type-s motor swapped ... i was told it has a lsd trans but i'm guessing they've mistaken it for the ATTS trans ... if it does have the ATTS trans would i need the SH downpipe correct? ... thanks for the help by the way i really appreciate it
unreal just unreal support you guys have here, thank you so much i need to make a donation or something.....
now i can get this header in non-sh and sh model fitment.
excuse me while i have a noob moment here but im pretty shure my 95 h22 car and motor is non sh i never really dug into it but i dont have the 3rd tail light or the atts light in my dash w-e
being that i am trying to put this long race WEAPON R exhaust manafold on my 95 h22 would yall recomend using the sh or non sh header to ease things up a bit.
to top things off i need to make a cat back fit to this....i have a welder on hand and by no means new to "fitment" problems. i just need the header to bolt up free and clear.
i can swap out flange ends what ever is needed no problem......

is there any known differences between the ex. port demensions on the 4th and 5th gens?

Wow! Some of these posts just make me want to punch babies (thank you Dane Cook).
Victor, you shouldn't have brought this thread back from the dead. Read what Satan wrote because it's 100% correct. The H22A1 from a 4G lude, the H22A4 from a 5G lude, and the H22A from a jap lude all have the same size/pattern exhaust opening. That means that any H22 header will bolt up to the engine. However, the downpipes are all different lengths. The 5G base is the shortest, the 5G SH is next, then comes the 4G. If you intend on putting an SH header on a base model, it will work, but you will have to correct downpipe fitment with an adapter or simply use a welding torch.
Also, if it doesn't have ATTS, it's not a type-S engine. Many ****tards in the automotive industry don't understand the difference so I will explain it to you so you may explain it to them. A Type-S engine is rated at 220 PS and ONLY COMES WITH ATTS. An SiR S-spec is rated at 220 PS and ONLY COMES WITH LSD. An SiR is rated at 200 PS and COMES WITH OR WITHOUT LSD, BUT NO ATTS.
Now, Kronicus, thanks for trying to rip off my name :-) But seriously, don't get a weapon R. They are not a logical purchase. There are far better headers for under $500.

yea wow sorry for that huge brain fart ... well i'm hoping they are mistaking the type-s with a H22A7 or SIR S-spec ... they said lsd but alot of ppl think atts and lsd are the same which of course they are not ... i'm getting the complete swap, even down to the axles ... for 3200 ... no tax
thats the kicker though.......this weapon r header is only $136
it is genuine also......
theres not to many left but the guy said there on cleareance because no one bought them and they sat for years so they cut the price by 1/3d to move them and are almost out now
can i get a recomendation on your part for the one that will come as close as possible to meet up with a 95 non sh h22 cat back.......the weapon r header features a catless built in test pipe or "long" header for short
o ya and ive been rocking "Kr<>NIcU$" aka kronicus or cronicus for a bout 7 years now
also the orignal resirve"er" of kronicus@live @hot and @yahoo

My understanding is that the SiR S-spec is the Types S motor with just a plain old LSD tranny. So yes you can have an Type S motor with just the LSD tranny.
The two engines are as similar as the SH and base motors. Both H22s, but with different blocks. Your statement would be like saying "I have a Type SH motor, but it never came with ATTS."
If you're still confused, read what I typed 3 more times.
