Steering Rack
Well im getting my EK today or tomorrow. It has one problem, a bad manual steering rack...
How hard is this to replace? I have my helms on it's way...
Just wanted to get a little heads up on what this might entail. Also, is there anything I should do to the new rack to make it better/tighter?

manual racks suck! well, the turning radius that is. find yourself a power rack, and just plug the lines on the rack. slightly harder to turn at a standstill, but a better ratio than a manual rack.

I tried that. It was cool for about 2 hours. Then I said forget this and put power steering belt back on.
Go for the manual rack. If you're building a performance car, turning radius isn't really a concern because I don't really think you're gonna be maxing the steering wheel either direction.

I know exactly what you were talking about... Sure the different ratio means you don't have to turn the wheel as far to get the same turning radius, but that also makes low-speed steering a bitch...
