Default problem with obd1 greddy header on SH motor.

i have an h22 obd2 sh motor in my teg and i ordered a obd1 greddy header. when i went to go put it on, the o2 sensor bung sat right under my atts unit, and wont give me any room for my o2 sensor.

i called greddy and asked them about the 96 obd2 headers, and they said that all 92-96 are obd 1. and they dont make any 0bd2 headers. so now i have a header that is useless. i need some suggestions of how to get this header to work. thanks

put a plug in the o2 sensor bung, and have a new one welded on elsewhere.

go to home depot. get a nut that has the same thread pattern and size as an o2 sensor. drill a hole and weld it over the hole. now you have a home made o2 bung.

and while you are at home depot get a bolt to fit the first bung and plug it.

what the **** does OBD2 have to do with anything? All preludes have an O2 sensor in the same spot. OBD2 puts a second o2 sensor after the cat which has nothign to do with your problem. your problem is that it doesn't clear the ATTS unit which again is not an OBDII problem, it's an ATTS problem. My OB2 96 fits a Greddy header just fine.

Why haven't you removed the ATTS system? It doesn't work and is just adding weight to your car. I'd spend the money having the unit ripped out than modify a perfectly good greddy header.

i assumed that since most obd2 cars have an o2 sensor right before the cat, that headers would also come like that. unlike in obd1 cars where the o2 sensor is farther up the downpipe.

And i havent removed the atts because it seems to be a waste of time/money. it is just 40lbs dead weight. i dont feel like tossing out my tranny and doing a bunch of other stupid crap to lose 40lbs. id go on a diet before getting rid of the atts.
