question about the o2 sensor
sup and merry christmas ppl.I confused here.I have a d16z6 motor in my eg and the o2 sensor is right on the header, but by where the exhaust mani is.I have been shopping for a better header than the one i have already and it seems like most headers for this engine have the hole for the o2 either on the top, like mine, or close to the cat under the car.Is there some sort of extension o2 or do i have to convert something,so I buy one of the header with the hole by the cat?

im not for sure but i think the headers with a second o2 hole is for an obd2 car because they use 2 sensors and obd1 uses one on the top of the header. buy an ipod j/k

No, hes wondering why some headers have the o2 bung down by the cat and why some have the bung up top by the heatsheild/manifold like on the stock exhaust.
I'm also curious as well.

WTF?
I think if you are buying headers you will want the o2 bung near the rear so that it reads the a/f mixture from all cylinders, since most aftermarket headers are a 4-2-1 design. I think you could extend the o2 harness pretty easily, just cut the o2 sensor wires and splice in some length, but make sure not to mix up the two greens if it is a 4 wire.

Re: question about the o2 sensor (saywhat)
That makes sense. My y8 stock header is 4-2-1,and the O2 sensor is only reading 2 cylinders since its on one of the secondary primaries and not after the collector.
