to be honest with you, i dont think its worth it unless u already have the f22b.......f22b's (DOHC Non-Vtec from JDM Prelude, right???) are pretty damn rare and expensive......for less money you could just get an h22a1 and have 30 more HP + vtec......just my thoughts...

H22 drops in easily into 4th gen accords too......

actually they came stock in USDM preludes.
and they arent very rare cause i can get one for half as much as an h22a, id probably eventually go with the h22 but for less then half as much as the h22a, itd be a good replacement. cause ive seen themf or sale on ebay for as low as 300 bucks... probably not very good though... just wondering...............

if ur gonna just use the f22b til u get ur h22, it would be better to just go with a 50 shot of nitrous on the stock lx engine, that would give u 1) more power than the f22b and 2) u can take the nitrous to ur h22 when u finally get it

Are you sure? I thought that was the F20b.

might be the f20b, i could very well be wrong, but a friend of mine has a prelude and i thought it had an f22b under it.... might have been an f20 though... dunno. either way i can get the f22b dohc for pretty cheap.

Whats the reason you want a DOHC engine?

IMO it would be better for you to either swap a h23 for boost, keep your f22 and boost or reliable h22.

Actually the F20B was in the Japanese Accord Euro-R. Its a DOHC VTEC like the H22a just destroked to a 2.0. The first S2000's also had a F20. The H23 is the DOHC non-VTEC found in the 4th Gen Prelude Si. And the rarest engine, in my opinion, would be the H23A DOHC VTEC which was only found in the JDM Accord Euro R wagon. my 2 cents.

Several of you have been wrong about this motor so far...

It is not a "rare" motor. It is not an "expensive" motor. It did not come in ANY US released vehicle.

The F22B is a DOHC Non-VTEC motor, originally installed in 92-96 JDM Prelude Si only. You can find them with about 40,000Km in good working condition for under $800. This motor is essentially an H23a with different cams. The H23 is more low-end torque this this motor, as the F22B is setup to keep pulling and pulling all the way to it's 7,200 rpm redline. If you're going to drop this into an Accord, you will need to replace the driver's side motor mount with one from a prelude. Badda bing, badda boom.

I think it would be a wiser investment to go with the H23 over the F22B. The reasons are more low end torque, Aftermarket products I would assume are more abundant, and probably the most important far less expensive. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
