Screens did work, now white screen.. please help.. details inside
Thanks for looking ~
ok i had a two screens and they were hooked to the radio/dvd player..
all of a sudden both went white....
now i checked the video lines.. and tried to put in an auxliary item. like playstation to see if it was tv's or dvd/cd player...
well it has to be the screens.. but what would make both screens go white??
i am thinking the ground somewhere got wacked?? is this correct? i am getting power to them, cause they come on.. just no picture.. would a bad ground do this?
i am going to try to get a littke tv out to the car to check the video plus just in case:
thanks~

seems more like a signal issue to me.. i mean if there white screens that is kind of odd..
but yeah start with checking the ground, make sure they all have a common ground point.
make sure they didnt come unplugged or anything.. i always tape my rca/video plugs together so they neevr come undone.
did you do the install originally? if you can post some pics up i might be able to help a little more. but start by checking those things..
good luck

no i had a shop do it where i bought it, but i really never used them much.. and one day i noticed they were white.. like there is no video signal.
but i dont see how both stopped getting a signal at the same time, i check the dvd unit and the video line is working.. i checked it with a 13" tv and it was fine..
on teh lines.. i see a vid, red and black wires.. looks like red/black go to the toggle switch for power and vid goes to the unit..
i dont see where its wrong.. bad ground would me no power right? so no screen would pop up?

well before you go digging in any farther is it possible to go back to the shop that did the install?
well alot of times headrest monitors get y'ed in together because there is only 1 input on the back of those dvd players, so they could have gotten unplugged there.

40 hrs to check the problem? what kind of hokeydokey shop is this? If they did the install it should take them a matter of an hr or so to trouble shoot this problem. I find it highly unlikely that two monitors would go out and have the same problem at the same time. my guess is the same as everyone else's..i think theres a signal problem somewhere. what kind of monitors are they? how are they hooked up? what other equipment are in the car? need more info if you want us to help you with this. list them if you could with model numbers etc. Good luck

40 an hr not 40 hrs
they are actually a damm big shop...
they can trouble shoot but i dont see or feel its worth 40 bucks for them to just look at it and "figure" out whats wrong, then it ends up meaning they want you to buy more crap, or you have to pay for replacement part i didnt even need..
i am going to try and just cut the wires from the end.. and rewire them myself to my own 12v source and reground it.. i think its there.. cause its not video..
ive hooked up the video line to there monitors, 13" tv as listed.. its not the video.. its the wiring somewhere
hybrdvtec ill im you

ok cut everything apart
took it all out and rewired the power, and negative/ground
it has to be the rca's on the video.. cause i still get nothing..
btw they did a lot of pointless spliciing and crap
