Well, I just got my slicks yesterday and went to the track. 23" slicks on my 89 civic hatch with b16 stock bottom end, stock head, 3mm headgasket, and block guard. t3/t40e turbo and quaife lsd. I cant seem to cut a good 60ft. Now my best time was 12.8@121 with a 2.24 60ft on slicks! Man that sucks 121 is good for much lower. That was on the last run when I actually was able to heat them up good which kinda bogged it off the line when I dumped it at ~4000rpm which was spinning them the previous three runs. I need to drop at say 6000? Once boost built in first it broke them free again and I had to shift to second. I have an avc-r boost controller and have 1st turned down all the way -50%. Base boost is set at .7 with 35% duty. 1st -50%, 2nd -20%, 3rd +50%, 4th +50% now I want to be able to bring 1st down more and 3rd and 4th up more but 50%+/- is the furthest it will let you go. With these slicks being brand new, will they start to hook up better after a few runs??? I know I need to learn how to drive it better. This is the first time at the track with this car and first time Ive run on slicks, so spare the comment.
