Default This is what happens when an engineer gets bored - button shifters!!!

I have a 97 Lude with the Tiptronic auto trans. I got bored and took apart my shifter to see how the Tiptronic worked. I did some rewiring and soldering and zip-tied a couple push buttons onto my steering wheel.

hehehe fun fun

Everything was bought from radio-shack. I'll post a pic later on the wiring job. I took apart the Tiptronic box to figure our the wiring, then I tapped the wires and added the buttons. The biggest problem I have now is the extra wire hanging down for the steering wheel for daily driving.

yeah, those wires look pretty nasty. need to get some sort of wheel cover or something and integrate them. there's gotta be a way to wire those through the steering column.
