G-Tech Pro: is it accurate?
Next time I go to the drag strip I will let you know.
I just got one last month... seems to be fairly accurate... but I need some time slips to be sure.

Actually I don't mind if it's not accurate compared to the real world figures. As long as it is consistent, so I can use it as a reference for my mods.....
I have not used the HP caculator or the 1/4 mile feature on my R yet...
But.. last night a friend in a 95 E36 M3... used it for some base-line/after-mod tests.
210 WHP was the first #'s
After the chip and the intake/Euro A.M.M. 221 WHP.
It was kinda hard to get the #'s repeated. Lots of trys to get the 210 back to back... the 221 figure was after 5 runs and could not be duplicated.

4 runs.

Because of launchs?
after mods (he forgot that his new red-line was 7200)
-201 (he forgot that his new red-line was 7200)
-210 (he forgot that his new red-line was 7200)
-218 (new found rev range)
-221 (best run)
-210 (tapped rev limiter)
it was cooler... but the differences (with his car!) were very strange
I guess if you launch the same every time and shift at the same point... the #'s should be a lot closer.
I will give the meter a better try and give another report.

I think a rolling start would be more accurate (no wheelspin). Is it possible with the Gtech? Maybe the 1/4 mile figure is more accurate...

Don't think the meter can work around wheel spin.
FYI the peak HP #'s were in 2nd gear 2/3's thru the rev range.
We came to the conclusion that the 1/4 test would be better... get into 3rd gear..
That 1st/ 2nd stuff was not enough fun.
