aftermarket performance calipers on stock 5th gen rotors..
yeah they're a waste of money and no i don't think they do.. they only make the big brake kits. legend calipers are the only option you can do.
school me please...
why are they a waste of money???
wouldn't four pot piston calipers have more clamping force than my stock 2 pistons
or whatever the 5th gens come with stock...
i am going to be running damn near close to 375whp out of my 5th gen and i don't think that the stock brakes will like that

you will still want to resurface it anyways with new pads to help prevent sudden shaking from uneven wear, so why not just replace it entirely

It should just take an extra 5 minutes to get the rotors off...well 5 minutes, an impact driver and a bit of pent up frustration....
Legend calipers will work as will NSX calipers which is what I'm goin with

how many pistons is the nsx calipers?
do i look for rear nsx calipers since it is rear wheel drive??
do they bolt right up??
or do i have to fab. brackets of some sort?

Prelude calipers are 1 piston, btw.
I think Spoon might sell a 2 piston upgrade for the ITR, which will fit a prelude because they have the same brakes.
I run stock calipers, with blank rotors, SS lines, brake ducts, lighter car, and really good racing pads. I have enough braking force to lock up Falken Azinis at 100MPH. That's all the braking power I need

nsx calipers are 2 piston and you'll need to shim it or something because the rotors on the nsx are a lot thicker than the prelude's
and yep 577hondaprelude said it right... you don't need too much "clamping power" from the caliper, it depends mostly on the other aforementioned gear.

First question you need to ask yourself is, "Why do I need to upgrade my brake setup". Do you road race??
Second question you need to ask is what is all involved in the whole stopping process. Tires, shocks, brake pads, calipers are a few to mention.
I have a feeling you DO NOT need to upgrade your brake system. Get a nice brake pad set, good tires, and some good shocks and you will be good to go.
BTW, there is a such a thing of an overkill when modding a brake system.

Honestly, I think you need to focus on your brake pads first. SS lines are only good if you road race your car. Is that what you are going to do with it??
The top two brake upgrades IMO are brake pads and tires.

no i am not going to be road racing...
occasional drag,
thats about it...
so if i were to pop in some high performance pads...i.e. hawk pads
i should be straight right?
my rotors look fine so i don't think that they need to be resurfaced..
btw, i am riding on yoko parada spec-2 (215-45-17) on 17in rims
hope this helps
