You launch as high as you can without excessive wheel spin. You'll just have to experiment. My guess would be 4000-5000rpm, but lacking a LSD might need a lower launch.
first warm them up with a second gear burnout. Then launch at 6k+ rpm
Also remember tire pressure will rise the most after the first burnout. I start at 11-12 psi before first burnout and check pressures to 13-14 just before hitting the burnout box.
Must be doing somthing right, 1.87 60 ft's for a juiced SOHC Civic.
13.55 @ 100 mph with full interior this time!

for the burnout just drop the hammer in 2nd gear? which rpm to drop the hammer? higher the better? i'm a bit weary to do slicks next time after my snapped axle on street tires couple of weeks ago.

Set Ebrake.
I rev the motor to about 3000 and let the clutch out while feeding more gas. Bring rpms up to about 6000-6500 and hold. When the slicks get sticky they will drag the back tires through the water box.
Do 1 dryhop to make sure tires are dry and stage.

second, im not an aeronautics expert, maybe you are- regardless, this is the wrong thread in which to be correcting me. If you would like to comment on my opinion of the Su-35 please place it in the appropriate topic; dont tuck it away where I'm not looking. I don't mind being corrected; I welcome it. Thank you.
third, and with respect, why is it that you had to "resist" to a question about legal drag racing? If you don't like the question, don' t post. You don't have to like drag racing, but you should respect it. Here is the quote under the Competition Forum listing:
Discussion of modifications, tuning, and driving techniques autocross, road racing, and drag racing
notice the last two words. If you don't like it, complain to the moderators and perhaps they'll create a "Cone Racing Geek"* category for you.
*This comment should be taken with the levity and humor for which it was intended. I enjoy autocrossing as well as many other forms of racing. I know maxQ's attitude does not represent the majority of auto-xers and road racers on this board.
Arrgh... Out of respect for the "majority of auto-xers and road racers on this board", I'm not going to get into this with you here.
However, I would like you to realize that your virulent behavior is based upon an incorrect assumption on your part... AT NO TIME, have I tried or suggested to discredit legal drag racing and my suggestion to ask elsewhere as well in my original post was given in sincerity for the large number of reputable drag racers in those forums as well.
