Clutch loses grip as it gets hotter...what does this mean?
As the title says...
Everytime I drive for long distances, the clutch seems to lose its grip...meaning it won't grab as hard as if I had just started driving it after 10 hours of rest (wherein it grabs pretty dam hard). It's a clutchnet stage1 I just put in a couple months ago.

Either you are pushing so much horsepower that your clutch can't handle it and is slipping or your clutch is not fully disengaged.

your clutch will still last awhile though... i'm still using my crappy OEM clutch after years of abuse (and happy NOS runs)... however, when the clutch gets hot and slips, it does take hours for it to return back to normal... i wish i could explain the thermo-kinetic dynamics of this problem, but i can't...
The slippage is probably related to the pressure plate more than the clutch, once you heat a pressure plate up and you put heats spots on it(bad), you might as well change it out. But you can baby the thing around for a long time, but if you cont. get on it, might as well change it out before you get stranded.

It's probably glazed, and when the clutch gets hot, the glaze causes slippage.
You'll need to take the clutch out and resurface the fly and PP.

Hmm...that's not good.
What's the cause of glazing? I know I broke it in properly...I even went the extra mile of torture and gave it a 1k mile (as opposed to 500) city-driving break-in.

I had the same problem with a Stage 3. It would work good until it started getting hot, then it would start slipping. They sent me a stage 5 and have no problems. Basically the clutch material is getting hot and glazing which in turn glazes the pressure plate which causes it to slip. Good luck...

i think my clutch assembly might be experiencing the same thing... plus since i got 17 inchers (with 215 width meats), my clutch tends to slip more as my car is gripping the road better, and placing more stress on the clutch...
