changing pistons with block still in the car.
First of all, is this possible? Things I'm wondering, do you have to pull the head in order to take out the pistons? I'm assuming that you have to take the head out, then pull hte oil pan off and unbolt the bottom part of the connecting rod and then pull the rod out the top. Is this right?
If so, when replacing old pistons with used ones, is it a simple matter of sliding them back in and then reconnecting the rod once again? Also, I've heard that you have to get new head studs and a new head gasket. Can anyone veryify this? thanks guys.

Just to make sure you have the right information:
You need to rehone the cylinder walls so the new piston rings set-in properly. You can use a dingleberry, but be VERY careful so you do not egg the cylinders.
Basically you yank the head, drop the oil pan and remove the main bearing cap for better access. You then push the pistons out. Rehone, then drop in the new ones.
It is recommended to use new head bolts. I would go ahead and get ARP head studs, you can use them over and over again.
