Default my tuning story

First off, lemme just say ebay sucks. With that out of the way.

I drove out to autowave last week on tuesday to drop off my p28 ecu. I had no idea the thing was already socketed, and I was pretty happy when they told me it was, hey I figured I saved 50 bucks. So I leave my ecu, and wait for the s200 I ordered to arrive. On the following tuesday, I drive back out to autowave to get my car tuned.

I get a baseline run of 183.5 hp, and then Mike (autowave's tuner) plugs in the hondata. Immediately, a CEL flashes on. Mike messes with the settings for a while, then informs me that the ECU is not taking hondata commands (it is in limp mode, apparently). So he calls hondata, and they tell him to do a few things to try to get it to work. Still no go. So now I'm stuck with a broken ECU, great. We send the ECU back to hondata, and with any luck they'll be able to fix it (Mike told me the soldering job didn't look all that professional). If not, I'm stuck buying another p28 from hondata.

Moral of the story: don't buy electronics off ebay.

well you just have to be more aware of what you are getting

get ALL the details of whatever you are buying

ask the seller if he is willing to take back the product if its not in teh condition as described per the auction

ebay is good if you're cautious. see if the seller will accept a refund.
