Default Replacing synchros and gears ?

i have a 92 accord lx with a lil grind into 3rd. i was hoping that i could replace the synchro on it before selling it but i don't know how hard it will be. i've been searching online and using hanes and chiltons manuals to get an idea, but they don't seem to say much about level of difficulty haha. i also want to buy a prelude but the second gear synchro is bad and i'm assuming that the gear is shot. if you have any idea about any of this give me some suggestions or a "how-to" online somewhere, thanks

get yourself a helms shop manual, and a good assortment of tools.

i've torn down and rebuilt a ford muncie 4speed before, pretty straightforward. if you are decently mechanically inclined and do things slowly and carefully you'll do fine.

make sure to check the wear on the dog teeth, since worn synchros will put more stress on them, and you might end up replacing the whole gear if you have to.
it's not like rebuilding an engine as far as difficulty, but there are plenty of tiny little things that are easily lost like snaprings and such. take your time and get a helms.

Thanks, good info. I've torn apart ford C-4's before and it wasn't bad at all. This is just a little bit different though and i'm hoping that i won't mess anything up. I'll have to see what happens

it is probably better to just replace the tranny unit. I think 2.2L trannies are interchangeable between accords and preludes and they are pretty cheap on ebay. Trannies replace should cost 400-500-max (parts and labor). Synchros could be close to a tranny rebuild in terms of costs.
