Default Tranny Caseing Question

Does anyone know if you can swap out the internals of an Si tranny into other CRX/Civic trannies? Like into a DX or STD tranny?

dx and si are pretty much all the same gears except the final drive thats what plays the role in better punch off the line

There's a few different generations of tranny cases in the 88-91 cars. Some use a smaller diff bearing and some use a larger one. If the diff bearing is the same size between the cases, you'll be able to swap gears over.

I built my close ratio Zc gear/Si final drive tranny using the guts from a 91 CRX tranny, a JDM ZC tranny, and the case from my 4 speed 89 Civic STD.

I guess I will just have to try and it find out. I have heard of ppl rebuilding their DX trannies with Si parts. So I dont think it would be a problem.
