Default which engine?

ok, so im a newb, bare w/ me.

First, this is my first honda. I'm primarily a Mitsu guy but decided to dive into the honda tuning world now.

I just picked up my cousins 90 civic hatch. It does, however have a D16 swaped in it (SOHC, non-Vtec). But i want more. so i was wondering which would be the better swap idea?

A b20 w/ ITR head?

or b18 w/ ITR head (LS/Vtec)

i will be boosting it a few months after its swapped in. My friends was suggesting the b18 and having it bored up to a 2.0. Im lookin for the opinion of some more familiar w/ this though.

Thnx guys

damn man... with the crvtec you can get a dyno at around 200 hp stock, but at ls/vtec you'll get around 180-190, and this is with the itr head though... i have a ls/vtec, and when i put itr cams, clutch, and MSD i dynoed at 197 hp and 137 torque... but crvtec will beat torque numbers on a ls/vtec any day, and that's what you want if you're a quarter mile guy... but either way, those two hybrids are the ****, adn i gotta represent ls/vtec, but i respect crvtec any day! peace dude...
