My car has about 66k and I dont know when the previous owner decided to change spark plugs. I decided that it would be a good idea to get some new ones because when I start the car up in the morning I feel some hesitation (sometimes). How can one tell if you need a change?
well if I decide to change, I gotta few questions:
I guess im looking to go with NGK's. Or is there a better alternative?
Do I have to change the plug wires along with the spark plugs?
Are NGK's pregapped? or is this done on your own?
Do I need to replace the distributor cap?

Spark plugs are very easy to change out. And no, you don't need to change the wires, just the plugs. For me, I stuck with the stock NGK plugs which are pre-gapped. Make sure wherever you buy yours, that they are pre-gapped or you will need to gap them yourself.
You'll also need a torque wrench to be sure that your plugs aren't too tight. You'll also need a spark plug socket and an extension for your socket wrench that will let you reach into the engine to get the plugs. Everything else is just screw-in and screw-out.

I don;t feel a troque wrench is all that necessary an expense. Tighten it until it is snug and then go about a 1/4 to 1/2 turn more and you should be fine. You may want to get some anti-seize compound and put it on the threads of the plugs so it'll make it easier to take out next time.
