i dont knwo exactly how wide u can go, but sticking out will not be a problem if u get the right backspacing and offset (essentially the same thing). My boy has 20x8.5 chromes on his 04 coupe. good luck

@Silence:

An important point to keep in mind when selecting a wheel offset is to make sure your strut housing-to-wheel clearance is not significantly reduced, or the insides of your tires will rub suspension pieces, or not fit at all. Note that front and rear can vary! Bear in mind that it will be your tires that will stick out the furthermost point -beyond the rim of the wheel and it will there that your tires will rub.

Backspace is the distance from the inside edge of the rim to the mounting pad. To determine backspace...
1. Lay a straight edge across the rear face of the wheel.
2. Then stand a ruler vertically on the mounting pad and note the measurement where the ruler crosses the straight edge.

Do not ask if some wheel you are considering will fit, no one in general can have any idea. Do the research needed (see links below) to obtain the proper information. Then, present these results provided to someone who is extremely familiar with your car model and the wheels and tires that they themselves perhaps have fitted the way you want yours to function. Ask them if they think the wheel will fit.

Consider the sources when getting this kind of information. TireRack and other like sources are well versed in these things, but in the end.... it will be your choice alone and if not done correctly could prove to be an terrible mistake.

Do you really want to base your expensive purchase decision on some little teeny-boppers recomendations on this forum who drives(?) some old 'piece of crap' saying "my boy (lol !) has such and such 24" x 10" Twinkies on his super-duper rice dragster!" ? This particular posters handle makes them sound like a Saturday morning cartoon with their age equivilent. {AceRacer13}....give me a break! I really laugh when I hear these kids spout off about what they know little or nothing about. Backspace and Offset are not essentially the same thing.... Good Grief!

.....Again, consider the source! Make haste slowly!
