Rattle when shifting
I get an odd rattle when I engage/disengage the clutch. I can hear the rattle right at the top of the pedal travel - i.e. if i apply just a little pressure to the clutch I will start to hear it. It is more noticeable in 2nd/3rd/4th gear than 5th.
I had this video saved, not sure what it was from but the rattle you hear when shifting is identical to what I am hearing, although I think mine is louder. This is not my video

Ideas? Throw Out bearing?
Thanks!

I couldn't make out a rattle in the video, but I had an odd rattle in my car a few weeks ago. I thought for sure it was the gearbox, but it turned out to be a missing header bracket bolt.

Yep.
I dont think its the header bracket, it was there before I installed the oil pan, and we tightened up the bracket.

Since it also occurs in neutral, I would have to say that it is tranny/clutch related.
I was also guessing it could have to do with the shifter rods but since it happens in N, then that would eliminate it.
Has the problem been happening for quite sometime? Gets worse?

how many miles do you have on the clutch?
I think you might have the same problem i had, one of the springs in the pressure plate came loose and would rattle every time i shifted. You basiclly have to replace your clutch when that happens.

couldn't hear **** in that vid
but your symtoms sound like it could be throw out bearing
is the sound rpm independant?
does the sound change with rpm?
sound go away when the clutch pedal is all the way down?
from what you've said so far, seem like its only making that sound in the top 1/4 of pedal travel, is this correct?

Seems to get a tad louder at high rpm shifts
