Default Other Integra Links --Supecharger on LS

I'm looking to do some reading on superchargers on non-vtec Integras (specifically, my '98 LS). Anyone know some links or anyone who have this setup?

I know the whole turbo vs. SC debate. Personally, I don't care to have the fastest car, but I would like to have some good power through the entire band with good reliability and without too much extra maintanence. Not looking to purchase one yet, just wanted to do some reading. Any links would be helpful. Thanks!

Okay, let me break it down to you. If you chose to go with a Supercharger, the B18B LS motor is not the motor you want to do it with. Tests show that the B18C GSR motor is better with a supercharger. Now, for the SAME price, you can throw the turbo onto your LS motor, and it will be a beast. The supercharger and turbo are the same price, and you get much more power out of the turbo instead. Everytime you race someone with a turbo and lose, you're going to be kicking yourself in the *** for not going with the turbo instead.

Cliff notes: You're motor isn't ideal for a supercharger. You're motor shows its true potential with a turbo instead. And, since you already have low compression pistons in your block, you'll be able to boost more and gain more power with a turbo.

I'm sure that this isn't what you wanted to hear, but, trust me, I know a lot about the B-series motors, and your motor and a turbo are the perfect match.

I would seriously reconsider what you want to do before running out and purchasing a 3000 dollar supercharger.

yeah he basically said it. hey fooman aren't you the guy who has the LS that looks basically identical to mine? anyways just to give you a rough idea of what to expect from a m45 blower or m62, my friend runs a 15.1 @8psi. That roughly equates to about 160whp and 130lb/ft. Where as I ran a 13.8 @ 8psi with the Drag kit and BB turbo. Don't waste 3k on a part that will give you maybe 20hp on a stock engine, and if you don't wanna go turbo at least get some wild cams and a new valve train and have some fun.

I was under the assumption that with a SC, the required maintanence is less than with a turbo setup. I hear the turbo is more "picky" and has more problems than with a SC. Besides, I'm not looking to race here. I'm through with that. I'd like to have some good pick-up speed on the interstate and something I could use for auto-x in the future.
