Default Could old/low tranny fluid cause this?

Could having low or old tranny fluid cause gears to stick even when you put it in neutral? For me my 2nd gear is almost impossible to get to slide in smoothly, and when I take it out of second gear and put it in neutral it wont go over to the 5th and reverse gears until I release the clutch. It will then make a banging sound and the shifter will move around, almost as iff it was still in 2nd gear and its poping out when I release the clutch. After that I can move it into 5th and reverse fine. It will also grind 3rd when shifting at high rpms(above 6500).

Sounds to me like something internal is screwed up... Try a fluid change ASAP. Then if the issue is still there, you're going to need to crack the tranny open.

You should try bleeding the clutch. It sounds like its not reaching full length.

I'd change the tranny fluid just since u should have done that a long time ago. Then id check the level of clutch fluid in the master cylinder, if its low fill it and check inside the car above the clutch pedal if its leaking fluid into the car, if it is, than u have a bad seal. This actually happens alot and its not expensive to fix, i have done it to my car. If its not leaking bleed the clutch.

How do I check the clutch fluid, and how do I change/bleed it? Anyone have a link to a step by step tutorial?
