for my first car should i put a b16a, b16b, or a integra type r in my 93 honda civic hb?

depends on the budget man
b16a cheapest with good power
b16b pricey, more power, more revs
b18c5 way pricey, more power still, more torque (best selling point for me)

mount a bseries tranny to it and call it a day with bolt ons

Well since it is your first car, I would just learn on your stock engine to gain knowledge! Maybe a head swap at the biggest project, but you have to learn somewhere, and those engine are great to start!

According to your profile, you are 14. Your first car when you hit 16 should be a hooptie. A nice slow hooptie.

Once you learn how to drive, sell that '93 and get a '90 hb. Then drop in a B20.

lol i agree with kyoji. when i was 16, my crx was hooptie. It still is hooptie now that i'm 17 rofl.

I'm 18 and my cars have become progressively more hooptie-ish since my first car that I got when I was 15 (1993 Mazda MX-6 LS from the original owner).... But hey, they're a shitload faster than the mid 15 second MX-6.
