I have a 96 Accord. The motor mounts are not in good shape because my car vibrates at idle. Instead of changing my motor mounts and having to go through all that trouble, I want to adjust my iddle speed from 750 to 950 to balance the engine. This will reduced the vibration. What I want to know is where do I adjust the idle for my 96 Accord 4 cylinder engine. Thank you

 

get some polyurethane MM inserts, and get yourself a haynes manual....thatll answer 90% of ur questions

 

If you stand on the driver's side of the car, there is a sensor on the back of the Intake Manifold. Once your car is running and warmed up, pop off the plug to this sensor, and above the throttle body there should be a screw to adjust the idle speed (I'm just assuming you loosen it to increase the revs at idle). Once this is adjusted reconnect the plug to the sensor, and you may have to reset the ECU.

Just search this forum for "idle adjust" or something, there should be a thread or two filled with good info and images.

 

before you fiddle with the idle, why not try changing the front motor mount first? That one is easy to get to and may solve most of your problem. worked for me.
