1.6L civic motor Vtech.. 1998
I have a 98 civic that has a 1.6l singl cam in it.. Recently my car would sputter when I start it up and I had to floor it to make it move.. The motor also has a really bad nocking nois comming from the motor..!! very loud nois.. Nock Nock Nock.. What could this be.. and how can I fix the Problem.. I cant even drive the car because it has no Power!!!

First off, Vtech is a phone company, VTEC is Honda's variable valve timing system.
Your engine is most likely a D16Y8.
The knocking sound is probably rod knock, plan on a rebuild, or plan on a new engine.

Changed rod bearings today.. Not much help when you have a bad ristpin and rings.!!!! Time to do a Swap.. h22a.. Checked on today. w/Hondata Comp.. Thanks for the reply... Also for those who think there car can rev to its max.. Think again because this is what you will be doing on a monthly Term
