Default Install Problem with an Autometer Voltmeter

Weird problem, the meter only reads 12 V when the car is off, as soon as you put the key in it jumps and falls to 0 V. The meter is wired to the 12V wire on the radio and to the radio ground. If you have any ideas they would be appreciated. Thanks

y you went that far for
if had done some research before install
you will have found out if your gage is mounted in the pillar
on the driver side kick panel right above the fuses
you will find everything you need.
a male plug thats on when the car is on connect that to the meter
a male plug thats on when lights are on connect meter light to that one
and just make a ground anywhere for meter and light.
make sure you have a light tester..
