hey guys, i just installed a turbo kit (td04 15g) on my d16y7/8 and it has this weird idle when i start it up. It will be normal when i start it up but about 15 seconds the rpm will drop to about 100 on the brink of dying from 700, and the vac will go from 20 to 0?? so the as the rpm is dropping, the vac drops, do you think its a vacuum leak? it will idle at 100 until i give gas, then back to 700, then to 100 with same vac symptoms every 20 seconds until i give gas, then back to 700, then to 100. after about 4 cycles of this gas on, gas off, it will go away (when the engine is warm) can anyone diagnose this?

 

it might be the idle control valve. if it was a leak when u start it up the rps would be high.

 

check your iac valve. my car did the same thing.

 

would it necessarily throw a cel? 14? cause im not getting a cel

its not throwing code 14, would it need to to make it be the IACV?

 

what do i need to check on my iacv ?

 

the iacv will only set a dtc if it is electrically fouled up. mechanically it could be not working and not set a code. difficult to test one that isn't electrically screwed, aside from just replacing it.
