Default my floor jack broke =(

i was trying to work on a car and when i went to jack up the car a bunch of oil started leaking out. and the part where you turn to lower the jack back down was all wobbly. is there any way i can fix this or should i just buy another one? this really sucks cuz i have a car i want to finish lowering.

sounds like a broken seal within the hydrolock pump. If its a craftsman, the one from Pepboys, just go buy a new one. If its the big floor jacks that pump up 5-6 tons, try replacing the seal.

costco has a pretty good return policy but i wouldnt trust a defective jack, especially after 2mos.

I've had my Costco Arcan jack for well over a year and many many uses. It's been a good jack But yea, costco has a really good return policy.. Even if it's after the listed date.

here's what i always do if i lost the receipt or they won't take the item back.

go buy a new one, same exact model. save the receipt. take the broken one back with the receipt and get your dollar dollar bills

thanks for all the input. so you think costco would let me return it even without the original box and receipt? yeah i have the arcan 3 1/2 ton floor jack and it leaked oil just from lifting hondas for 2 months.

if they won't let me exchange it i'll just go buy a new one and return the old one. what are the chances they open the box and check it?

I doubt they will even notice. I've done it numerous times with different tools, jacks, etc.
