Default b16 tranny on my gsr will it change hp?

dumb question, if i put a b16 tranny on my gsr will it make the horsepower and torque different at all?

No it will not give you any hp or torque gains, no transmission will. But it could allow you to accelerate faster depending on gearing and such ie b16

well im not gonna get one unless its well worth it. i dont want to be in vtec on the freeway just so i can lose 1 tenth at the track

you arent in vtec on the freeway unless you speed. Its a good thing because it keeps you from speeding also cuz you have to be in high rpms to do so. DEFINATELY worth the money, its a type r tranny without the lsd!

its not the type-r tranny. the type-r tranny has a 4.785 final drive, the b16 is 4.400

The JDM Type R tranny has a 4.785 final drive and the USDM Type R tranny has a 4.4xx final drive.

u will have better acceleration due to the shorter gear ratios of a b16 tranny.

who really reaches 5th gear when racing... honestly. Who said i was talking about the jdm itr tranny when saying they are the same? anyways they are BASICALLY the same

Actually the 96 spec (96-97 ITR) still had the 4.400 final drive. Only the JDM 98+ spec ITR had a 4.785 FD.

No, as the B16 tranny has nothing to do with how any part of the engine functions.

and just for the record... and i hope to GOD everyone here knows. the ENGINE makes the power, all the tranny does it put it to the wheels, after there the tires gotta do the work.
