RSX - S at 70 MPH?? Speedometer pics??
I am just wondering what the S revs at in 6th at 70 MPH?? anyone got any nice speedometer pics?? I am just curious as i am looking into purchasing an RSX-S and i will be driving it ALOT on the highway on cruise at about 70 mph curious as to what kind of interior noise there will be from wind and engine ect ect
alright cool, any idea about interior noise levels in db's?? i am just tryign to compair the 2 cars i am considering...the RSX'S and the celica GTS, yes i know this issue has been covered in this forum, i used the search feature but i couldn't find anything talking abotu highway cruising between 70-80 mph and what kind of interior noise levels there are at that speed...thanks guys!
I'll tell you this. the rsx has noisy tires. it's not that quiet. but I would get the rsx s over the celica though. the celica is a nice car don't get me wrong. but it doesn't have potential like the Type S would.
yeh i realize the aftermarket potential for the RSX is FAR higher but i am not planning on making any performance mods except intake to get rid of that stock air box under the hood i also plan to put a really good suspention setup on it, havn't decided which for sure but i have about a 3,000 budget for suspention so i am thinking something like tein SS or something. (tires of course will be changed from stock)
I think the rsx-s has a noisy inter/motor too but that's only at redline
I found it to be louder than most cars are in stock trim. However the car is pretty outside AND inside and I guess that makes up for it. 6 spd = freeway

i believe it is somewhere about 2850 give or take. it's a really nice cruise rpm. there is none to little road noise. it's a great highway driver. hope you get one. its a great choice

he said SAPPOSED to, what have you taken it to, you said WAY past 140 so like 180?? I highly doubt a stock RSX would go 180...

The theoretical top speed of an RSX-S is 178 MPH@7800rpm (There's a formula for this, but I dont want to go into that right now). With Hondata flash, the top speed is around 200mph... I was talking to an Acura Instructor a couple of years ago and was told that most of the speed limiting is done by the rev limiter, but there actually is a speed limit at the speed the tires are rated for. Stock Type-S has a V rated Tire, which says that the ecu should limit you to 149.... With the Hondata flash and CAI I got mine up to 152, before I felt my kidneys were going to explode. Since I've gone FI, I havent gotten that high yet...

these people don't realize that there are places in the world where you can see down the road as far as the eye can see...come to the praries in sask and you won't see a problem with doing 140, dynos also work for top speeds...
edit : and in these places there is only a car go past every say....3-4 hours...

I have S2k valve springs and stock ecu and managed 143 in 5th at around 8200; just before limiter.
