after driving it real hard through our canyon run this morning...I checked all fuses...none were blown...any ideas? Radio and dome light do work though...

Any ideas before I start blindly hunting down the problem?

I will say look for burned wiers or a burned relay.

 

thanks, do you have an idea of exactly where a relay would be located for the instrumentation?

 

that little dimmer switch, proably went bad.. i had the exact same problem when i bought my 88

you mean that dial that makes the cluster lights dim and bright...that made your tach / temp and fuel guages go bad too?

 

not off the top of my head but check in a helms Manuel for wirings and fuse's

my friend's dimmer switch went bad, and just the lights wouldnt work. the gauges still functioned properly.

 

Same problem. Anyone able to fix this?
