Speakers/Headunit die out randomly, What to do???
alright randomly today my music would cut off and play for a lil bit and then cut out again. right now my headunit turns on and plays tracks but the speakers aren't putting out sound.
i have checked the 15a fuse under the dash and i checked one under the hood, the backup 7.5a i believe, both were fine. i actually replaced the 15a for ***** my speakers are still out. i also rechecked all the connections for the radio's harness, all were good.
anyways when i turn on the headunit i hear the speakers for a split second, this little sound comes out right when i turn it on and then nothing else. i checked my grounds and all seem to be fine. any ideas???

i was just out trying to figure out what was wrong...the headunit would sometimes play my cd with the key turned to accesory, once i started the car the music went out. and while the music was playing in acc mode it would die out when i turned up the volume.
where should i be looking??? the cars accesory harness is tucked above the deck slot and i can't really see much

Dude,
Have your alternator checked. My car was doing the same thing with the car off. Then it progressed to doing it while i was driving. Mind you, i invested approximately 2 days in finding "A SHORT SOMEWHERE!" Unfortunately, the way i found out that there was nothing wrong with my stereo setup was... Monday morning on my way to work.
Also, check to make sure you have a good ground.

Do you have a amp in your car ? if you do you might want to check if all the wires on it are tight.. If you dont have an amp.. you might want to check if any of the speaker wires are touching each other.. I had that problem before. a wire would tap shutting off the speakers not the Hu
