Its all about tunning. B20turbohic is boosting his B20 to 15psi with his standalone with stock internals. St00pid laid down 400whp with the stock block LS. Someone just blew thier LS while running an vortec FMU at 7 psi.... Its all about tunning.

LS might be easier, but like Blaze said, it all comes down to tuning.

Been a while since I last researched this. But arent b20 blocks sidewall thinner? Therefor more prone to cracking under detonation?

Id run a B20 if given that choice.

More displacement = faster spool times and more power with the same boost.

Nah, displacement has nothing to do with spool times, it's a about the size of the turbo and how much PSI you are running.

But, more displacement usually does mean more HP with the same boost.

I just wanted to give the guy some advice and not argue with someone over the internet, but if you think that the same turbo on a b18 and a b20 are going to spool at the same rate you're dead wrong.

I say b18 because it would be more tune forgiving, and because they are cheaper. I agree that a b20 vs a b18 same turbo and psi, that the b20 would win, simply because it would have more torque.

tuning is key..both motors share a lot of similarities..so you really cant go wrong with either. Just look around to whichever you can pick up for a better price..after you pick up one..build it,TUNE it,dont forget traction/driving,and TUNE it some more.

I aint arguing with you man if you think they would spool differently, thats fine.

If I was going to build a turbo b series it would be an LS. The sleeves are stronger and the compression is good for boosting.

Since he said stock, id go with the b18. But 11's would be a little hard unless you have allot of money in fuel mods or your just reckless. Your sounding like you want to make this thing semi budget minded, so im gonna say b18 with like a vafc and 10-12 psi will get you strong 12's. Your gonna have to build if you want to safely run 11's.
