im starting to hear some flapping noise from my engine. It gets louder as i rev higher. i searched and it seems to be the timing belt thats becoming loose. Anyone know how much it costs to get it tightened? Im not too aware of that part of my engine and i dont want to mess it up so might as well have the mechanics do it

 

Loose tensioner?? how many mile on you car an when was the lastime it was changed???

Clicking Valves? get a valve adjustment

 

my car has 56k miles now and i have never did a valve adjustment or mess with the tension.. is that the problem?

 

Couldn't hurt to check... ask a fren to check it out or take it to me a mechanic.

 

I'm assuming you've looked under the hood to see if anything is loose?

 

i have a flapping noise as well.. around 3rd and 4th gears and checked out that the valves were ticking and the timing belt was tight as hell so im assuming its the valves..just check..open up the valve cover
