Default OBD1 GSR Alternator on 00 TypeR?

Yea so my roommate wants to buy my OBD1 JDM Alternator (not sure if JDM is higher or lower amperage, so I mention it just in case... probably same ****)

he has an 00 ITR and I believe all the engine harnesses are the same as the stock OBD2... will it work? or does he need a different alt?

If I were you two, I'd take that JDM Alt out to his car and see if the plugs work/fit.
After that ...

Honestly man if it were that easy, it would already been done. Now before I go through the hassle of shipping my OBD1 Alt from my folks house to my current residence, I would appreciate an answer.

Problem solved...

I called acura and they had no idea...

so I ended up calling pepboys and cross checking the part numbers for the two, as of right now I am going to believe they are different

Ok .. looking up a 96 GSR the alternator is a Denso with a number of 19687, and for a 2001 ITR it is a Mitsubishi with a number of 19689.

I remember reading something here in the past that there ARE differences, but to answer your question ... ? I don't think it'll work.

And yeah, why add that this guy is your roommate if you don't have the parts IN HAND!?!

I know the answer as I had to deal with both in my engine swap. The plugs are definitely different. To make my swap of an 01 itr motor into my 95 GSR we reused my old GSR alternator. Still if you are desperate, you can splice the 95 alternator wires into an 01 harness. My friend did it on his Civic and it worked.
