Default MY 97 JRSC civic ex broke. what should I do now?

Shop says I threw a rod probably broke a piston ring and all the oil went out the tailpipe. We haven't put any money into finding the exact problem, but they said my best bet would be to go with another motor. Now I'm trying to figure out if I should part out what I have and go DOHC or build my single? Any suggestions? Let me hear them. Thnx

Just get another y8 block, it should be less than $500.

Hmm....I dont think you know enough about his setup to say whether or not his motor was properly built

I suggest at least pulling what you have out and checking out the damage. I wouldn't drop all the money on a new block if it's somethign simple to fix.

Also, stay with the JRSC if you have it and are happy with it. You won't break even selling that for a turbo setup, I promise.
