bad knock sensor(searched)

i read about alot of people having problems, but i dont know for sure about the safemode on this engine(h22). i have a chipped p72, and from what i remember, the ks was taken out, but today i randomly got the code. it still runs fine, i cant tell a difference... still got vtec and i can rev to 8k like always. my ks is broken and just dangling, but i didnt think that would matter, since the chip was put in.

eventhough the ecu is chipped, if theres a short in the ks will it still throw a code but just not affect performance???

thats a good question but, i think it all depends on who chipped it and what method they used, possibly contact the people that chippd it.

i have a bad knock sensor too... and from what i'm told you just gotta fix it when you get your car smoged.... but it doesn't affect anything really....

Wrong.

and that's a really good question: I was under the influence that a chipped P72 would not pay any attention to the knock sensor. Give the guys that did it a call.
