Ok heres the deal, my hks intercooler piping is all 2.75 inchs in size. But the outlet of the precision sc61 is closer to 2 inches in size. Now my hks piping stops in the fender about 14inchs away from the turbo. Due to the placment of the turob i have to use a L bend from the outlet si its pointing forward. This L bend is 2 inches in I.D. Now should i make the pipe 2.75 inches in diameter a soon as i can after the turbo? Or can i just run a 2inch piping for the 14inchs to the hks piping and expand there? Reason I ask is cause right now that 14inch piece is 2 inchs big and it seems to work fine. But if im loosing some flow or HP then Im down to change it. Thie is also where the bov is mounted it that makes any diffrence. Thanks again

Oh one more thing where would i get 2.75inch piping in a j or u bend? all i can seem to find is 2.5 or 3inch

 

Tough to say honestly if the 2" bend would be a restriction. If the turbo outlet is 2" then I'd probably leave it.

Not cheap, but it is a less common size...

 

I'm definitely not educated in this, so don't take my opinion too seriously, but I would just do whatever is easiest. For that 14 inches right off of the turbo I don't think it would make much of a difference. I am curious to see what others will say, so bump.

 

a lot of SR owners run smaller dia. piping on the hot side to the FMIC....then they will run larger dia. piping to the TB. the theory behind it is that there is less lag due to the smaller volume and or higher velocity in the smaller charge pipe. honestly, i have tried both methods and couldnt really tell a difference. i have run 2.0 in. and 2.5 in. from a T25/28 to various FMICs......the smaller piping didnt help with lag at all. if anything, it felt as if there wasnt any top end at all, but then again those t25/t28's dont have much top end to begin with

personally i would run larger piping right off the turbo. either with a silicon adapter or with an adapter

I Used an silcone adapter on my friends sr swap with HKS intercooler and t4
