Default y1 clunking noise

I'm the proud owner of a b16 powered 91 crx. The problem is with the tranny. The tranny is a y1 (oem lsd?). The previous owner said it had a Cusco lsd, either way, when I turn in first gear it will make a HORRIBLE clunking sound, and no, its not the cv joints. Anyone?

definitely sounds like its time for new axle(s). tranny problems usually only happen when you shift.

its definitly not the axles, ive already changed them. Im pretty sure that its somthing to do with the diff, just not sure what and if it can be rebuilt or if its time for a new one.

sounds like the typical y1 lsd knock. Its a clutch type lsd (stock) and its prolly what it is. So you need to add some lsd additive to the gear box should take care of it.

GM synchromesh along with the LSD addative should really help. Good luck.
