Inspections in Illinois?
What do you guys have to go through out there? I might be moving out there in a few months. I've got a B18c1 running non OBD off a Zdyne. Do they check like cali does or anything?
Thanks,
Mark

Keep your car registered out of state. Emissions checks aren't regular like year to year, but when they do happen, you'll have to pass a sniffer check on rollers. My car is registered at a my families place in MI.... no inspection/emissions there.
In cook county (Chicago) they just run the sniffer. No inspection at all. They get ur milage, check ur gas cap, and put ur car on rollers for the sniffer. Way easy to pass and cheat if u need to.
if your lucky you won't even get on the rollers. If your lowered and on rims you can get by without the roller test. The guys at the one in waukegan said they didn't want to risk messing something up. The test is simple as hell.

Passing emissions in IL is a joke. All you have to do is say you're worried about your car getting damaged on the rollers and usually they'll just do the idle test. If they give you **** about not wanting them to put the car on the rollers, just tell them you will hold them responsible for any damage that occurs and it will quiet them up real fast
I have passed w/ a turbo'd d16z6 motor and an OBD0 motor in IL (both engines used Catco free-flow cats)
