my ls is smoking alote. by alote i mean a whole lot. it will fill up my house if the windows are open. it also have trouble staying a a descent rev. it going up and down about 1.5 rpm at a time. i looked for a vacuum leak and found nothing. i just put the head on, and adjusted the valves. i really need my car back its been down for 2 weeks.

 

what color is the smoke

 

like a white, light grey color

 

the smoke could be your headgasket.A leakdown test could pinpoint the problem.
does the smoke smell like gas or kinda sweet?
the idle could be your fitv check that

 

yeah. I sure it is the head gasket because there is a little bit of oil in the coolant and the head gasket was not in the best shape when i put it on.

 

time to take the head off again. by now you should be able to do it in the dark with no hands. might want to throw up a WTB for an oem headgasket. find valves yet?

 

no im going to wait on some after market valves. there 200.00 on ebay for the whole set. if anyone can find them cheaper let me know.

i would say its the head but im prolly just a "echo" fill us in if it something diffrent.

its not the head cause it was working fine before i took it off. i put a b16 head on the find it had hella bent valves. than i put the ls head back on while i get funds for the new valves. thats when the problems started.so im sure its just the gasket, but im not sure about the idle

 

how the timeing on the belt?
