I live in Germany, and grilfriend just bought the new CTR and I get to have it for the weekend. Drove it tonight, its a badass car. I have a GSR thats basically stock and I love that car,but now I fouund my dream car. The close ratio 6 speed and the way VTEC engages, OMG, its great. Was just wondering if anyone else has driven the CTR yet and what they felt about it??

 

alot of us are here in america so we dont have the pleasure of havin the CTR here...

 

same here, i have a 2002 civic Si....its pretty quick, for 160 HP that is....LOL

Well, I have a RSX type S so I drive a car with the same engine and I love it. I'm gonna go out on an a limb and say that your car's suspension is probably superior to mine. have fun

Yeah, something American Honda didn't give us.

 

there are alot of "somethings" that Honda withheld from us.

Are you sure about that? The UKDM CTR has the same K20A2 engine and transmission as the RSX-S (no LSD). Only the JDM CTR has the K20A (215HP) with the LSD.

 

Honda.co.uk makes no mention of an LSD in their CTR materials, but honda.co.jp does.

 

well, i just took some pics of it and they all came out kind of fuzzy since they were night pics. but ill try to get a shot of me doing a high speed run on the autobahn. Had it up to 220 klicks last night, but still had some rpm's to go. all things considered, even though the CTR is badass, i still think I like my teg more. a couple things i dont like, the suspensions is great, but i feel to weird with the high center of gravity. i dont feel safe. and when the road gets a bit jumpy the CTR bounces too much, and in combination with the high center sittin postion and high center of gravity, its kind of scary. its stupid to have a first gear since its soo short and you can drive it 2nd just fine. the ratios are too short i think and the engine need to be more aggressive sounding. these are all little nitpicks, but its not prefect.

I am new to this Forum.
I also live in the Stuttgart area.
Since last Friday i'm a proud owner of a black 2001 CTR.
You are right, the Car feels a bit "bumpy" at high speep cruising.
Today I drove to Heilbronn. First it felt kind of strange driving at speeds above 200 kp/h but I got used to it and got more confidence in the car.
It ist a great car! :-)
Maybe we meet on "Karfreitag" at the Nürburgring.

To the others: The European Type R has 200HP and no LSD. Only in Switzerland you can order a LSD as an option.

Oh, and please excuse my bad english. I'm just doing my best to recall everything I learned in school

I'm in London.

I got a 30th Anniversay CTR with JRSC.

no LSD! car as standard apart from Hondata and JRSC.

the drive, I feel a little uneasy when there is strong side winds, however last Sunday I drove the car crusing at 165MPH (from GPS) the car was really steady can feel alot of down force. befor you ask why I driving at 165MPH. the anwer is I was pulling away from a Built and stripped EK4 with a Vortech SC. He was Glued to my back bumper upto 150, I guess that we was puching a big hole for him.

yea, i'll be there at the Nurburgring on karfreitag. Me and by bro with the JDM eclipse will be there, and Alex with the Evo, i think we'll cruise together. have you been to ludwigsburg on a warm saturday night. there are a lot of imports there.
