Power Enterprise or Greddy or Stock Timing Belt - Which is the best for the money?
Which do you guys think is the best timing belt.
Take into consideration the following:
1. Price of Timing Belt
2. Longetivity of Timing Belt
3. Labor to Change It (More Often for OEM)
4. Peace of Mind
Application:
This would probably be geared towards a fully built or semi-built (upgraded valvetrain) engine, since I think for a stock H22A, OEM Timing Belt is the way to go.
Greddy Timing Belt
Approx $150

Power Enterprise Super Strong Timing Belt
Approx $150

Stock OEM Honda
Approx $45 at Dealer

i figure, you'd have to replace the OE belt twice before the power enterprise or greddy belt once.
so if you do it yourself, may as well go oe, it'll be cheaper in the long run. plus, you only have to replace the tbelt once every 60k miles under normal driving conditions.

like I said...Greddy and PE are the same belt...they are both going to be hard on an auto tensioner IMO but I guess you could do it..

oem only for me please...who knows better than the builder? with upgraded valve train your lookin at 200whp if your super lucky with lots of tuning on top! dont waste your money...chances are youll break the engine before the timing belt needs to be replaced anyway...
id go OEM timing belt with a manual tentioner,i think you will have no problem.. the auto tentioner just causes to many problems and with an upgraded valvetrain no way in hell i would trust it.
well i had a prob when i first installed an engine. a washer was in the wron spot and the t-belt got eaten more then half-way though. had that been a stock belt it would have snapped.
i then put a stock one on cause thats all i had. 2 weeks later i snapped it at 8 psi. i then put on my head w/upgraded valvetrain, and a pe belt. been running 10+psi, and running it hard for 3 months now.

Point taken, aftermarket belts are the best...and taking it that power was one of the first companies to make extra strong belts i'd purchase them!
Running a Greddy on mine with manual tensioner. Have no worries or problems at all. Just one thing less that I have to worry about now, after having broken 3 auto tensioners.
