Default Timing belt wont tighten, what the hell is going on? NEW BELT!!

Z1 (VX) Block
Z6 (EX) Head
VX Timing Belt

My timing belt WAS tight, then it got loose. Its not tightening and the tensioner is all the way tight! This is the only thing stopping me from driving now and its pissing me off. Maybe I didnt do it right? Got any suggestions?

why did you not use a Z6 timing belt? and are you sure the tensioner bolt is not stripped or your tensioner is actually functional?

The Z6 belt was WAY to big. Did you ever see the tensioner on a VX block? Its like the size of a half dollar. The VX block is a 1.5. The bolt isnt stripped because it gets snug and stops turning. I dont want to force it and snap the bolt inside the block because then I'm really fucked. The tensioner is working because when I tighten the bolt the belt gets tight.

I fixed it. I loosened the tensioner and rotated the crank about 4-6 teeth counter clockwise to take away the slack and tightened the tensioner.

It had alot of slack. Put it this way, when the car was running the belt was smacking the motor mount.
