interior or no interior?
ok as most of you know, my car was stolen a while back and im in the process of rebuilding the car. i have the entire interior from the seats back completely stripped out. now my question is this. i might be picking up an entire red 91 CRX HF. i origonally planned on picking it up for the body peices. it has damage to the rear quarter panel and to the roof, but i dont mind since the only body peices im taking are the bumpers, fenders, doors, hood and tail lights (body is same color as my car and a hell of a lot better condition
). now heres the part im unsure about, the interior is black and i was thinking about putting the whole rear interior back in. i know it doesnt weigh a lot but every little bit counts right? but then also having a clean stock looking CRX is very apealing to me as well. especially with the car looking nice on the inside. but im really debating on it. what would you guys suggest? thanks.

Keep it stock looking and comfortable, damnit..
I bought my hatch with no carpet and I hated it, back seats don't weigh much at all either, its all foam and fabric basically.

Interior
put the interior in the thing i hate the most to see other that clear tail lights is a gutted car. It is not going to do much go unless you plan on racing it alot. 100 lbs.
is equal to a tenth of a second in a drag.

theres no way the rear interior weighs 100lbs, id be surprised if it did, lol. im thinking about sticking with the interior but removing the sound deadening material for a compromise, lol. possibly.

I'd go with the interior for comfort. I've removed my rear interior on my CRX... not much weight loss there. Just made my ride alot noiser.
I actually considered removing the tar and keeping the carpet too, but haven't really made a decision on that.

I removed all the plastic in the back and the glove box but thats just because it was broken. and the glove box was locked shut when it broke
I guttted my nasty blue interior cant stand the blue....So im gonna rock it gutted for a while till I piece together a nice black interior...My Motor is my priority.
what i have done is taken out all the rear plastic and carpet. i left the large rear compartment. all the sound deadening is still in, im too lazy to bother to take it out (yes, i have reason to, just not immediately) but i still have the stock floormats and removed the plast rocker panel covers from the carpet and installed them, so the front looks ok without too much stock paint showing. (passenger door panel is still there, however my driver panel is split at the moment with jsut the top piece)
what i suggest you do is also take the rear carpet out of the HF and install it in the gutted rear along with the plastic reinforcement over the spare tire. it helps make the car look cleaner, while still giving you all the room in the rear. the HF rear carpet is perfect, especially you said yours is black, since it doesnt come with the rear door separator. i pulled a carpet of a HB, fits fine except its longer of course. i just tuck it underneath the rear storage compartment.
btw, i have my rear taken out because my rollbar interferes with the plastic and id rather not cut my stock plastic pieces, should i ever want to reinstall/sell em. plus its a whole lot of extra room it provides, unfortunately with no cover.

i know the rear interior does not weight 100lbs. i was just saying that so if you did not know you would now know it. the rear interior is maybe 20lbs.
I prefer the striped but ful interior look.
Remove all sound deadning, ac, heater, atleast 2 speakers if you have 4, spare tire and jacks, light weight evo seats, lexan windows with out the rivets, carbon hood and a sunroof plug
Now you waegh less and it "looks" like a 100% full interior and the only thing left that really weighs much is the dash.
Its not the plastic the weighs you down.
I like "gutted cars" that are only missing carpet and rear plastic, you left the heavy stuff and the car now looks like crap.
