might be head gasket?
I have 94 honda accord DX and it is buring the oil alot. I mean A LOT!!! Also, it overheats after 10 min driving. I took it to my mechanic and they replaced water pump and timing belt. But it overheated after several days and now they are saying the head gasket is bad and the car is losing coolant water but there is no leak. Are these symptoms that I have right now because of the head gaskets? if then, how hard to replace the head gaskets and how much do it cost. Someone said its around 1200 to 1800$ if that is so i might as well sell it and get a new car. What do you think.FYI, my can has 150,000 miles on the clock right now.
i dont think it will be that much for a head gasket, u should search ur area for prices and then fig it out from there but its either that or a bad radiator, but it could def be the rings and seals if ur burnin alotta oil too good luck!!!
it sounds like the headgasket to me.
first thing first, drive around and see/hear if the fan is working properly.
check the coolant for oily, milky liquid, they are sign of head gasket gone bad.
headgasket part alone should be around 100bucks, if you do it yourself.
it just takes time but it's much easier to change headgasket(or scrape) on inline four than a V6/v8
