Default Just bought a ecu fast question

I bought a ECU from this guy i met thru ebay he was sellin a few chipped ones and i needed a P13 jdm ecu for a 95 lude engine v-tec. Now hes chiping it for me as well, heres the question. He says hes useing a skunk 2 chip, now i cant seem to find anywhere that tells me about this chip being able to fit in my type ecu. Is there a Skunk 2 chip made for my ECU? and is it listed in some secret place?

thanx in advance

it is probably a program similar to that of a skunk2 chip. I would be leary of such a product, IMO chips designed for a specific type of engine aren't as desirable as one that is made specifically for your engine. you may want to look for someone local that can make you a custom program.

well back on topic, i just looked at both skunk2 and spoons websites and neither one offer any ecu programs for the p13. so IMO any p13 chip claiming to be made by one of these manufacturers is a knock off. i personally wouldn't use such a product on my car.

I would only use a chip if it was specifically designed for my setup also.

It'll probably run, but I wouldn't trust its tune.

If you don't really dog out your car, then i wouldn't worry about it. If you get on it often, then take it easy till you can get it rechipped or something.

i know for a fact that spoon makes a programfor the p13,however i have never been able to confirm that skunk2 makes a program for the p13...place a call to skunk2 and ask directly if they ever supplied a p13 program....i bet they say no.

i have spoken to a business in Arizona that imports Spoon products and they had purchased a copy of the program from Spoon. They would not sell me a copy of the program....I have also see ecu;s that were chipped by spoon...or someone that went way overboard in trying to make it look like it.

Just because Spoon no longer offers a product doesnt mean it never existed.

ALso be aware that spoon did have a line of products for the prelude in the past, but since it has been 3 years since the prelude has been in production they no longer market that line of products.

ahh great well thats what i thought so i emaild the guy so hope its able to get a differnt chip. Guess ill go will the jun, or mug. But i have no internal just bolt on's. I will put cams in soon, but i think the jun and the mug pull harder and run richer. Also there made for internal stuff.
Or ya guys think i should stick with the spoon chip?

Ahh yes the chip in my ECU that burnt up was indeed a spoon.
Reads this on top of chip

Spoon - JDM P13
92-95 Prelude H22
VTEC - 5000 REV - 8500

But its a label and any printer coulda prited that out
