My starter just took a dump and was stuck in the "ON" mode for like 2 minutes..
until I finally pulled the battery cable so it would stop turning the engine over.
It would run full speed no matter if I had the car running or off.
Should I be w3orried about it screwing anything up like that, or even metal shavings if it stripped the gear(havent replaced it yet)
How would I get those out of there?
I am assuming this is simply a bad solenoid so I am replacing the whole thing..
any thoughts?
thanks

haha that happened to me to but it took me a while to realize that i should shift out of first instead of stepping on the brakes while the car lurches forward, i put it in neutral and after a min or so the starter finally died and a massive amount of white smoke and burning rubber smell came out from under my hood....
sooo, what happened, did it hurt anything besides the starter? Ill bet it killed your battery... I put mine on the charger just in case.
On a different car I used to have, I put some white lithium grease (high temp) on the starters gear when I replaced it.
Would that be a good idea for an accord?
thanks
